Terms of Use

How we keep the table fair.

Pull up a chair, play partnership 42, and treat the table like a Texas kitchen. These terms describe association membership when it is billed (adults 18+ self-serve, or a parent/guardian buying for a child chair), how accounts are meant to be used, parents and guardians of minors, and what is not welcome. They are not a substitute for a law-firm contract. Contact: Use the contact form.

Also see Privacy Policy.

What this page is

This is a plain-English product description of how Texas 42 works today. It is not a lawyer-stamped contract, and it is not a claim that every processor is live.

Effective September 8, 2026. By using Texas 42, or by creating a chair, you agree to these terms. Questions: contact form.

Texas 42

Texas 42 is partnership Texas 42: bid, trump, tricks, and marks. Solo with an AI partner is open on this device, private tables are open to members, and friends follow your account. No ads on the table. No credits to play a bot.

The site is a professional Texas 42 destination. Treat other players, the table, and the house with the same hospitality you would bring to a kitchen game.

Accounts, devices, and no sharing the chair

When accounts are live, login is email + password. Every chair defaults private. Email is never visible to other members. Details live in the Privacy Policy.

  • Devices: sign in on as many as you like. There is no device limit.
  • Live play: one concurrent live play session, not two devices playing the same chair at once.
  • Intent: that lock limits account sharing. A chair is for one member, not a shared login passed around the league.
  • Sign out everywhere ends your session on every device, including the one you use it from.

A child’s chair is a normal, separate account via the name+kid@gmail.com trick. We do not connect this account to the parent’s account in any way. See Parents & guardians / Minors and Setting up a child’s account.

Parents & guardians / Minors

Children of any age may play. Paid membership: adults 18+ may self-serve, and a parent/legal guardian who set up a child chair may buy full paid membership for that account. Self-serve paid without a guardian remains 18 or older only. We address parents and guardians only on the child path, not minors. No kid-directed marketing. These unfinished screens are not counsel-approved legalese and not a claim of immunity from the law.

When signup path (B) is used (“I am a parent or legal guardian setting up this chair for a child under 18”), the parent or legal guardian (or a person otherwise authorized) is creating a normal, separate account for the charge. We do not connect this account to the parent’s account in any way. The intended mailbox method is the `name+kid@gmail.com` trick. Details: Privacy · Child accounts and Setting up a child’s account.

By completing path B, the parent or legal guardian attests that:

  • They are the parent or legal guardian, or are otherwise authorized, to set up and supervise the account.
  • They take full responsibility for their charges (minors) using Texas 42: play, social features within kid-safety locks, and any charges they themselves make.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, they do not hold Texas 42, its operators, hosts, or affiliates liable for the minor’s use of the service.
  • They agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy on behalf of the setup.

Path-B chairs may complete paid membership checkout when the parent/guardian who set up the chair buys full membership for that account. Adults on path (A) self-attest 18 or older; they do not complete guardian checkboxes. Self-serve paid without a guardian remains 18 or older only. We do not collect a birthdate unless counsel later requires it. Under-13 COPPA posture (parent email / plus-address; minimal profile; no kid-directed marketing; default private) lives in the Privacy Policy.

Memberships & billing

We take payment for membership by card checkout at Membership. When billing is not live you will see Card payments aren't switched on for this site yet. Current open prices live on Membership / Signup, not in these Terms, so the offer can move without a legal edit. We never see or store a card number. Membership money and night money are kept completely separate. Tournaments may charge a run, hosting, or entry fee when that product is live. There is no prize pool funded by entrants, and no cash-out or gambling checkout.

When membership opens, it will be annual. Each paying member is grandfathered at the rate they joined for renewals. The current open price is shown on Membership and Signup, not frozen here. Solo vs AI stays free. Membership is for multiplayer / social premium paths, not for locking bots or optional extras. Local / dev play stays open for testing.

Paid membership is association membership in a private membership association: members, dues at the price when you joined, and house rules. Counsel papers formation, filings, and bylaws; we have not filed any of the state paperwork yet, and this page does not claim we have. The association label is not a claim that laws do not apply, and it is not a regulatory exemption or immunity from gambling, tax, COPPA, consumer, or payment rules. A chair is billed as membership dues, kept completely separate from night money. Tournaments may charge a separate run, hosting, or entry fee when that product is live. Paid membership: adults 18+ self-serve (18+ only without a guardian), or a parent/guardian buying for a child chair they set up. Children of any age may still play.

All paid memberships are non-refundable. Paying for a year is a final purchase for that billed period.

  • You may cancel renewal in account Manage billing (or the billing portal when that ships) so the subscription does not renew.
  • Cancel stops future charges only. Access continues through the paid period, then ends. Cancel is not a refund of the current period, or of prior periods.
  • Complimentary (comp) grants are $0 access. They are not refunds.

Billing questions: contact form. We will not ask for your password or card number by email.

A separate tournament-hosting entity (membership-required entry; hosting fee paid to the association) is a proposal pending counsel. It is not formed here, and this page does not claim it exists.

Host night / tournament

Host night is at Host night. Texas 42 runs a free Tuesday house night at 7:00 PM America/Texas (round robin into a short elimination final; free chairs may sit; kids with parent or guardian approval; two tables or it quietly does not happen). Hosting your own night uses a host account (free signup, verify email). Entry fees are real money. We hold your card when you take a chair. We charge it when the night starts. If the night is called off before it starts, we release the hold, or refund you if we already charged it. Texas 42 keeps a fee per entry. Any extra the host adds goes to the host through our card processor. Free self-serve host is not offered. Texas 42 does not pay cash prizes. Texas 42 is not a casino and is not affiliated with the National 42 Players Association. Full tournament rules live in the separate Tournament Terms.

A host account may open a night, invite chairs, assign tables, keep a light scoreboard, and run a bracket. Night boards are shared across devices. Host accounts cannot sit. Before you host or take a chair, you agree to these Site Terms and the Tournament Terms.

  • Fees run the event. They do not fund an entrant prize pot.
  • Kids may win prizes with guardian approval; the parent pays any fee; sponsor/charity fulfills prizes they put up. Cash to kids waits on a lawyer’s review and on what the parent or guardian told us at signup, and is not live.
  • Paid nights use real card checkout. Sponsor and charity nights are free to sit for now; no card is held on those nights.
  • There is no prize pool funded by entrants and no cash-out or gambling checkout. Membership money is kept completely separate. Paid tournament nights charge a real entry fee. See Memberships & billing. Live prices live on Membership, not as a list of join-year prices here.

Guardian CYA at signup is unchanged. See Parents & guardians / Minors. Questions: contact form (no public inbox address).

Fair play and acceptable use

  • Play the dominoes in front of you. No side-channel coaching mid-hand. That is why in-game chat is table-wide, not private DMs with a partner.
  • Do not harass, impersonate, or scrape the site. Block and report are there for a reason.
  • Do not try to break rooms, spam mail, or probe other members’ inboxes. Emails of other members are not yours to see.
  • Do not use Texas 42 to send unlawful content. We may close a chair that harms the table.

Solo, AI, and guest notes

Solo play uses a programmed table on this device, not an LLM calling out bids. AI partners and opponents are house bots. They are not other members, and they do not receive your email.

You can play solo without a membership and without an account. The guest / demo path deals one hand versus AI, then asks once, after the hand and dismissibly, whether you would like a chair of your own. Never a hard wall mid-trick. Guest play is programmed bots on this device, not private rooms, friends, or membership features. Solo versus AI stays free. Card checkout is not on this path.

Once you've visited, your phone may keep enough of Texas 42 to deal a solo hand even with no signal. Tables with other people, friends, and mail still need an internet connection. This is not a full offline game.

Privacy

The Privacy Policy is part of how Texas 42 works: default private, email never shown to others, child chairs via the name+kid@gmail.com trick, guardian responsibility on path B, friends-and-table chat only, personal stats only you can see (guest tallies local-only on this device), hand replays private-by-default (shared views show display names only). If these terms and that policy ever seem to disagree, the stricter privacy lock wins for how we handle your mailbox and visibility.

How to reach us

Use the contact form. That is the human path to us. We will not ask for your password by email.

When this page changes

We will update these terms as unfinished screens become live, and we will keep the wording honest about what is live versus what isn’t. Accounts, membership billing, and live private tables already are. The date at the top is when this wording took effect.
