Tournament Terms

Host night & tournament terms.

Plain-English rules for host nights on Texas 42, separate from the general Terms of Use. Invite-first hospitality. Not a casino. Not an entrant-funded prize pot. Not affiliated with the National 42 Players Association. Not finished yet; a lawyer may refine. Questions: contact form (no public email address).

Spirit of the table

Host night is invite-first hospitality. Texas 42 runs a free Tuesday house night at 7:00 PM America/Texas, round robin into a short elimination final. Hosting your own night uses a host account (free signup, verify email; paid membership is not required). Entry fees are real money. Texas 42 keeps a fee per entry. Any extra the host adds goes to the host through our card processor. Free self-serve host is not offered. This site is not affiliated with the National 42 Players Association and is not a casino. Texas 42 does not pay cash prizes. Prizes, if any, are between the host and the players.

General site rules still apply, see Terms of Use and Privacy. These Tournament Terms cover how nights are hosted, how fees work, and how prizes are handled.

Fees run the event, brackets, tables, listing, scoreboard. They do not fund an entrant prize pot. Players do not pay into a winner’s purse.

How a night can be run

A host account opens a night. Host accounts cannot sit a play chair. If you want to host and still sit a play chair, keep a separate player account — host chairs run the night and do not sit. Paid nights charge real money. We hold your card when you take a chair. We charge it when the night starts (two or more tables). If the night is called off before it starts, we release the hold, or refund you if we already charged it. Once the night starts, the fee stays, even if you leave early or don’t show. Texas 42 keeps a fee per entry. Any extra the host adds goes to the host through our card processor, after we charge.

At a glanceTuesday house night (Texas 42 runs it, free to sit) · Player hosting fee (service, the self-serve host path) · Sponsor-hosted · Charity-hosted (connected payouts). Details for charity, sponsor, and the house night follow. Membership current-rung pricing lives on Membership / Signup, not here.

Charity payouts

On a charity-hosted night, donations and hosting are meant for a verified-charity connected payout account held by our card processor. The charity receives the funds minus our service / application fee (the run fee that operates the night). Guests may give optional extra donations to the cause.

Our fee runs brackets and tables, it is not an entrant prize pot and does not pay winners. Charity nights are free to sit for now. No card is held on a charity night. We take your word that this is a real charity; we do not check IRS paperwork. Membership money and charity night money are kept completely separate.

Tuesday house night and private nights

The free weekly house night is run by Texas 42: Tuesdays 7:00 PM America/Texas, round robin into a short elimination final, no entry fee. Free chairs may sit (the membership exception). Kids may sit with parent or guardian approval. Two tables (eight chairs) or it quietly does not happen. Signup locks at start. It is not a host-mode Free option for arbitrary organizers.

A host account (verified email, not a paid membership) opens a night. Paid nights charge a real entry fee: Texas 42’s site fee per entry, plus any extra the host adds. The host’s extra is paid to the host through our card processor. Invite only, members, or an open listing are still available. Glory or host-funded prizes are optional; still not an entrant pot. Texas 42 never holds prize money.

Kids & prizes

Kids may win prizes with guardian approval. The parent or guardian pays any hosting or run fee for that chair. Sponsor or charity fulfills the prizes they put up, announced on the night.

Kid-safe defaults on this site stay glory, merch placeholders, and glory tokens with no cash value and no cash-out. That is hospitality honesty, not a ban on guardian-approved prizes from a disclosed sponsor or charity.

Guardian CYA at signup is unchanged, see Terms · Parents & guardians.

Cash prizes & minors

Cash to kids waits on a lawyer’s review and on what the parent or guardian told us at signup. It is not live on this site. Adult cash prizes (18+), if they ever exist, also wait on a lawyer’s review and are not live here.

Glory tokens have no cash value and no cash-out. Run, hosting, or entry fees run the event. There is no prize pool funded by entrants, no cash-out or gambling checkout, and no payout to winners through this site.

Before you host or join

Before you host a night or take a chair, you must agree to the [Terms of Use](/terms) (Site Terms) and these Tournament Terms. The Host night form requires that checkbox. Leaving this page does not waive either document.
